EXPORTING FLASH TO VIDEO

Flashagraf Home > How export your flash file to video

Exporting your Adobe flash animation to video should be a rather simple process - it depends what you need the output video for. You basically have two options, avi or quicktime. The AVI files produced are huge but Quicktime export is now available in CS4, and this produces a very nice high quality video file either for streaming on the internet (uploading to youtube) or for burning to a DVD.

But why on earth does flash not have the capability to export to WMV? Yes, you can buy Sorenson Squeeze or similar video conversion software, but it would make much more sense to export the flash directly.

The best way to export your flash movie for uploading to youtube or other video sharing sites is to export a 640 x 480 avi file. Import the avi file into Windows movie maker and then save the movie file to "my computer" and then choose "other settings" then "video for LAN (768kbps)" or you can export it as Quicktime which will produce a heavier file but it should still be small enough to upload to Youtube.

"Happy Sunday" greeting card made in flash. I exported this video from flash as a Quicktime in HD format (stage size 1280x720) and as you can see, the quality is great, especially when viewd full screen. Youtube even gives you an option to choose whether you want high quality or not.
