I'd say life begin's at forty, but I'd also say life begins at any age. You just have to know what you want then make a plan to get it. As the other famous quote goes - Every great journey starts with one small step - take that first step, and leap out into your forties and grab life with both hands, because you only get one opportunity - and yes, you're getting old! There are more free greeting cards and e cards and many cards for other occasions on my channel on Youtube - freegreetingcards. The idea that 'life begins at forty' dates back to 20th century. Before that it was probably more accurate to say 'death begins at forty' because most people didn't live much beyond that age. Believe it or not, the life expectancy in mediaeval England was only around 25 years old! It only reached forty at around the turn of the 20th century. Another famous saying 'The first forty years of life give us the text: the next thirty supply the commentary." was quoted by German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. These days women in their forties have many more extra marital affairs - it's like suddenly they wake up and they realize that what they wanted aged 20 is no longer relevant to what they want now. Or maybe they just got bored in their marriages!
